It is our goal to provide basic Islamic education in an Islamic environment, in order to create awareness amongst Muslim children of what it means to be a Muslim in today’s world.
The three sessions comprise: Qur’anic studies, Fiqh and Character development, Islamic studies.
- Quranic Studies:
In the Qur’anic studies session the focus is on teaching the Qur’an, starting with the basic Arabic character recognition and pronunciation in the lower levels and progressing towards proper Qur’an recitation and consciously employing basic rules of Tajweed (the art of Qur’anic recitation) and climaxing with the student learning the basic vocabulary and grammar of the Qur’an to enable him/her to grasp the basic meanings of the Qur’anic Aayaat.
- Fiqh & Character Development:
The Fiqh and Character development session will focus on methods of performing the ritual acts of worship and their legal rulings and Akhlaq/Adaab (Character and Etiquettes).
- Islamic Studies:
The Islamic studies session will be focused on lessons in Aq’aid (Beliefs), Hadeeth (memorization and understanding of some of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (May the Blessings of Allah and Peace be upon him) and Islamic History.
